Winifred J. Rowley, age 87, passed away on October 31, 2010 in St. John Hospial in Detroit. She was born April 13, 1923 in Detroit Michigan to Arthur and Ruth Gracher.

Winifred was a lifelong East Detroit resident and member of St. Veronica Catholic Church. She was a graduate of East Detroit High School.

Mrs. Rowley was a member of the Eastpointe Senior Citizens and a former United States Census taker.

Mrs. Rowley was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

Mrs. Rowley was predeceased by her husband Edwin who passed away on September 3, 1994.

She was the loving mother of Carol Reed, Joyce Rowley, Janice Reha, Edwin (Susan) Rowley III, Eileen Oxman, Mary Clarke, and the late Robert.

Grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 6.

She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Helga) Gracher.

Predeceased by her siblings Shirley Tebo, Arthur Gracher and Raymond Gracher.

Visitation Thursday from 1:00 until 9:00 pm at the S. K. Schultz Funeral Home, 21705 Gratiot at 8 ½ Mile Rd. In state Friday 9:00 AM at St. Veronica Catholic Church 21440 Universal, Eastpointe until time of funeral Mass 9:30 AM.

Interment Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township.
