The remains of Mrs. Jane Butterfield, widow of the late J.G. Butterfield, arrived in Creighton Wednesday afternoon and were taken to the Bazile Mills cemetery where they were laid away to rest, beside those of her husband.
Mrs. Butterfield was seventy eight years of age at the time of her death. She was one of the oldest settlers in Knox county and had resided in the neighborhood of Walnut Grove, but at the time of her death was living with her daughter, Mrs. Roeberg in Page. She died last Monday after an illness of two weeks. She leaves a family of eleven children.
The service at the cemetery was in charge of Rev. J. Narver Gortair. There will be a memorial service at the Walnut Grove school house next Sunday afternoon.
