Mrs Rachel M DETWILER, wife of E. E. Detwiler, died June 1, 1933, in Altoona. Born in Cambria County, September 2, 1872, she is the daughter of George Walter and Mary (Glass) Krise, Sr, both deceased. Her husband and four children survive: George W., Marie S., Mrs Hazel Brown, and Erma Margaretta; brother George W Krise Jr; three sisters: Mrs Mary Simons, Mrs Kate Lyle, and Mrs Jane Spacht; and 3 grandchildren. Interment will be at Beaver Valley. (Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Blair Co., PA., June 3, 1933)


Mrs. Rachel M. Detwiler, wife of E. E. Detwiler, 2918 Fourth avenue, died at her home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, of complications. She was born in Cambria county, September 2, 1872, a daughter of George W. Sr. and Mary Glass Krise, both deceased. She was married 34 years ago to Mr. Detwiler. Surviving are her husband, four children: George W., Altoona; Marie S., supervisor of the Allentown State Hospital; Mrs. Hazel Brown, Altoona, and Erma Margaretta, at home; one brother, George W. Krise Jr., Bellwood; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Symons, Flinton; Mrs. Kate Lyle and Mrs. Jane Spacht, both of Coalport; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Detwiler was a member of the Beaver Valley United Brethren church. Short services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, after which the cortege will leave for Beaver Valley church where further services will be held at 2:30 o'clock.
