Della Maye (Boyd) Fowler, 93, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Sunday morning, May 24, 2009, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born April 18, 1916, in Henry County, Missouri, near Brownington, the daughter of Johnny Lee Boyd and Minnie Emma Elizabeth (Dody) Boyd. On February 12, 1938, in Windsor, she married Edgar Dwight Fowler who preceded her in death on January 24, 1994. In 1945, Della Maye and Edgar moved from rural Clinton to the Windsor community. Della Maye worked as a switchboard operator in Clinton for United Telephone Company, for several years. She also work for the International Shoe factory in Windsor for 8 years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Windsor and was also a member of the Henry County Chapter D.A.R. Survivors include a daughter, Loretta Burford and her husband Donald, Leeton, MO.; a son Carl Fowler and his wife Betty, Windsor, Mo., 7 grandchildren, Debbi Bodenhamer and her husband Gary, Warrensburg, MO., Kim Conover, Midwest City, OK., Darryl Burford, Leeton, MO., Kelly Burford and his wife Holly, Leeton, MO., Darla Hamilton and her husband Larry, Carla Hamilton and her husband Bill, and Brian Fowler and his wife Candace, all of Windsor, MO. Eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Opal Howard, Windsor, MO.; 2 brothers, Gene Boyd and wife Donna, Strasburg, Colorado, and Owen E. Boyd and wife Beverly, Lynnwood, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Della Maye was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John Lee Boyd, Charley Boyd and Roy Boyd. Funeral services were Thursday, May 28 at the First Baptist Church, Windsor. Burial was in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor.
