Mary Augusta was the eldest child of Charles A. and Laura A. Dutton. She married Benton "Ben" Dudley Alloway on October 1st 1872 in Grant City, Taylor County, Iowa. At the time of their marriage Mary was eighteen and Ben was twenty. Mary and Ben had 13 children:
