NASHVILLE - William "Bob" Alvey, 74, of Columbus route 6, died Thursday afternoon at Brown County Convalescent Center. He was a former employee of Golden Foundry at Columbus. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Kritzer at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home at Nashville. Calling hours will be from 4 to 9 o'clock today. Burial will be at Christiansburg Cemetery in Brown County. Alvey was born Aug. 2, 1908, at Litchfield, Ky., the son of Samuel and Nora Lush Alvey. He married Stella Hatton Nov. 5, 1936, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are six sons, Ora, Harris, Sam and Ronald Alvey of Columbus route 6, Paul Alvey of Columbus and Arthur Alvey of Elizabethtown route 6; five daughters, Corene Greathouse and Nella McQueary of Columbus, Anna Perdue and Nora Sebastian of Elizabethtown, and Phyllis Garard of Columbus, and 23 grandchildren.

William (Bob) Alvey, Mt. Nebo Road, died Wednesday, April 27, 1983, at the Brown County Community Care Center. He was 74 years old. Alvey was retired from Golden Foundry in Columbus. A native of Litchfield, Ky., he was born Aug. 2, 1908, the son of Samuel and Nora Lush Alvey. He married Stella Hatton Nov. 5, 1936. Survivors, in addition to the wife, include six sons, Ora, Harris, Sam and Ronald Alvey of Route 6 Columbus, Paul Alvey of Columbus and Arthur Alvey of Route 6 Elizabethtown; five daughters, Corene Greathouse and Nella McQueary of Columbus, Anna Perdue and Nora Sebastian of Elizabethtown and Phyllis Garard of Columbus and 23 grandchildren.
