JOHN FREDERICK, 80, LITITZ RESIDENT
John Carl Frederick, 80, of 523 E. Newport Road, Lititz, died at home Friday night after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Kathryn Mummert Frederick. They celebrated their 55th anniversary in June.
Born in Lancaster Township, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mabel Rollman Frederick.
He worked as a machinery setup man at Simplex Paper Box Co. in Lititz and later at Woodstream in Lititz, Hamilton Watch Co. in Lancaster and AMP in Lancaster, retiring in 1981.
A member of Lititz Moravian Congregation and its men's and women's Sunday school class, he also served as an elder and a treasurer of the Sunday school and performed other volunteer work at the church.
He was a member of the Lititz senior citizens and drove for the Warwick Ambulance in Lititz for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Josephine M., wife of Paul G. Hagel of Newmanstown R1; two sons, David R. of Cleveland, Tenn., and Richard D. of Lititz; eight grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Also surviving are three brothers, Harry and Willard, both of Myerstown, and Samuel of Richland; and three sisters, Naomi, wife of Harry Gibbel of Lebanon, Betty, wife of Sterling Smith of Scheafferstown, and Mariel, wife of Harvey Hirst of Lebanon.
