Edith "Edie" S. Peters died on Friday, March 6, 2009, in Greeley, of cancer.

She passed two months and two days before her 90th birthday.

Edith was born on May 8, 1919 to Jennie (Gebauer) and Herman Jost on their homestead in Washington County CO.

Edith attended grade school at Bellevue along with her siblings.

In 1943 she went to California with her sisters to work in the airplane factories during WWII. She had many funny stories about the "adventures" in Glendale, CA.

In 1945, Edith returned to Colorado to marry Dave "Dick" Peters on May 28, 1945.

She and Dick moved onto their farm in 1946 and Edith lived there until 2007. At this time she moved to Greeley, CO to be closer to her son and his children.

Edith was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.

Edith thoroughly enjoyed bright colors, gardening, flowers, and the land on the plains.

She also loved raising baby animals on the farm.

Edith always had a gentle touch and an enormous loving heart.

She always provided an optimistic approach to even the worst situations.

Edith truly saw the world through rose-colored glasses. She was a unique lady.

Edith is survived by her two children and their families, Philip Peters, Windsor, CO, and Marlene (Dex) Hight, Miles City, MT; four grandchildren, Timber (Chad) McLaughlin, Cole Peters, Trapper Hight, and Prairie Hight. Edith also had two greatgrandsons, Orion McLaughlin and Donovin Peters and special nephews and nieces. She was also survived by her sister, Emma Hoover, Akron.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents, twin sister, Edna, and brothers, Alfred and Herman Jost.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St.

Joseph Catholic Church in Akron.

Inurnment followed at Akron Cemetery .

Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Marlene Hight, 412 S Center Ave.

Miles City, MT 59301.
