As we go to press, we are pained to learn of the death of Maurie Ames, whose life has seemed to be suspended on a mere brittle thread for several days. We are without the particulars of his life or death at this time but will publish an extended notice next week. We are informed that the funeral will take place tomorrow.

Yes, Maurie has passed away; not dead but “sleepeth.” All that was of the earth earthy is laid away to rest on a beautiful hill side in the cemetery, there to rest ’till the morning of the resurrection, and while we bow in submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well, we do not the less mourn for the loved one called away. May we so we that we too may feel that “Father knows what is best,” the language of Maurie as he was nearing the crossing of the river. W. H. Brinkerhoff.
