Albert Ernest Flanagan Sr., 68, of the 100 block of Wharf Road, a retired auto mechanic, died Jan. 17, 1992, in his home.
Mr. Flanagan was born in Norfolk. He retired after 28 years with the city of Norfolk and was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, Ruth Lodge 89, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies and the American Association of Retired Persons. He coached and umpired Little League in Norfolk for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Spry Flanagan; two sons, Albert E. Flanagan Jr. of Norfolk and David K. Flanagan Sr. of Shiloh; two sisters, Betty Bernard of Norfolk and Carrie Mae Scruggs of Port Angeles, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. John R. King. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Masonic rites. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and also at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
