Elaine Ginsburg, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, after a short illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with the Rev. Sharon Robertson, the Rev. Su Milam and the Rev. Steven Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey.

Elaine was born in Bryan, Texas, to the late Emmett and Sue Ely. She grew up and attended school in Hearne, and attended Texas Tech University where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught third grade in the WISD for many years. Elaine married Stan Ginsburg on June 5, 1977, and then retired from teaching in 1992 to become a full time homemaker and mother. She was active in many activities at First United Methodist Church, where she served as a Stephen Minister. Elaine also participated in many activities, including the Women's Council, Prayer Committee, Adult Handbell Choir and the Thursday Knitting Group. She was active in the Walk To Emmaus program for the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and had been a past Walk Lay Director, and had also served as the Conference Registrar for three years. Elaine served on the Alzheimer's Association Committee for the Memory Walk, and volunteered regularly for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She served for over 40 years on the staff and board for American Legion Auxiliary's Bluebonnet Girls State in Seguin, Texas, and recently had served for two years on the Womens Auxiliary for the USS Chewaucan Reunion Committee. Extremely generous and caring, Elaine loved her grandkids and family very much and loved being at church for any activity. She was known to her grandchildren as "Gigi".

She is survived by her husband, Stan Ginsburg, of Waco; sons, Andy Ginsburg and wife, Kimberly, of Houston, and Adam Ginsburg and wife, Kathryn, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; daughter, Amy Kehlenbach and husband, Keven, of Waco; grandchildren, Noah, Charlie and Mills Kehlenbach, all of Waco; brother, David Ely and wife, Sheridan, of Hearne; aunt, Lou Seaberry, of Azle, Texas; eight nephews; three nieces; and many, many close friends.
