Home in Logan, Ut.
He was born ,Oct 22, 1888 at
Sigriswyl, Canton Berne, Switzerland,
to John and Elizabeth Baumann

He married Margaritha Schlunegger
Nov 4, 1914 in the Logan LDS Temple
She died July 11, 1971
was an active member of the LDS
Church and was a high priest at the
time of his death. He was a Logan Temple
worker for 16 years
He was a lifetime farmer and rancher
in the Montpelier area until his retirement
in 1954, when he moved to Logan,
where he resided until his death
He is survived by two sons, Joseph
and David John, both of Montpelier, 10
daughters, Mrs Julia Margaret Nye,
Montpelier, Id , Mrs Ira (Clara May)

The Gerbers are the parents of 12 children, all
living: Mrs. J. Vivian (Julia) Nye, Paris, Joseph
Gerber, David J. Gerber, and Mrs. Ruth Esterholdt, all
of Montpelier, Mrs. Ira (Clara) Perkins, Cokeville;
Mrs. W. L. (Gladys) Derricott, Mrs. Ivan (Freida) Baird,
Mrs. Lloyd J. (Irene) Swa, and Mrs. Clarence (Nelda)
DeMain, Ogden, Mrs. Leo L. (Bernice) Wilson, Escalante,
Utah, Mrs. Dennis (Lillian) Eschler, Logan, and Mrs.
Max (Edna) Gibson, Smithfield, Utah.
They have 33 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.

The family of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Gerber of Logan, Utah, honored them at a dinner celebrating their golden wedding Saturday at the Lions Club Lodge in Smithfield, Utah.

Mr. Gerber was born in Segriswil, Bern, Switzerland on October 22, 1886 to John and Elizabeth Bauman Gerber. He emigrated to America as a convert to the LDS Church, coming to Montpelier and a year later moving to Logan, where he spent his teenage years working in Cache Valley to earn enough to pay off his emigration debt, and buy some land of his own. He came back to Bear Lake where he worked on ranches in the Raymond area and later settled in Montpelier, where he took up the occupation of farming.

Mr. Gerber was born in Wengen, Bern, Switzerland on April 20, 1891 to Konrad and Anna Graf Schlunegger. In 1912 she emigrated to America as a convert settling in Montpelier. She obtained employment in the homes of the G. C. Gray, Henry H. Hoff and Frank Jones families.

The couple was married November 5, 1914 in the Logan temple and made their home in Montpelier until 1953 when they bought a home in Logan, where they have since resided.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Gerber have been active LDS Church members and temple workers.

The Gerbers are the parents of 12 children, all living; Mrs. J. Vivian Nye, Paris, Joseph Gerber, David J. Gerber and Mrs. Ruth Esterholdt all of Montpelier, Mrs. Ira (Clara) Perkins, Cokeville; Mrs. W. L. (Gladys) Derricott, Mrs. Ivan (Freida)Baird, Mrs. Lloyd J. (Irene) Swa and Mrs. Clarence (Nelda) DeMain, Ogden, Mrs. Leo L. (Bernice) Wilson, Escalante, Utah, Mrs. Dennis (Lillian) Eschler, Logan, and Mrs. Max (Edna) Gibson, Smithfield, Utah. They have 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
They had a baby girl who died at birth also.
