HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Sgt. Jack E. Johnson, II, 25, of Mims Road, died in McAlester, OK from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Sgt. Johnson was a native of Richmond County, and a life long resident. He was a 1995 graduate of A.R. Johnson High School and of the protestant faith.
Sgt. Johnson had served four years with the U.S. Marines and was on active duty with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was stationed in McAlester, OK.

Survivors include his parents, sister and brother all of Hephzibah; and maternal grandparents of Kinston, TN.

Sgt. Johnson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rozzie and Willard Johnson of Sardis.

Funeral services were held at 4p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2002, with US Military Chaplain and another officiating. Burial was at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, with full military honors accorded. Marine Honor Guard served as pallbearers.
