G. Mearl Humphreys was born March 19,1922 in Brown Township, Commanche County, Oklahoma, joined her beloved husband Vernon Humphreys in Heaven on October 4, 2000. Survived by children Dorthea Hutchings (Bob), Vernon Humphreys(Shirley) all of Lancaster, Teri Eccles(Jack) of Quartz Hill, sister Dorothy Knight of Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Awaiting her in Heaven, daughter, Shirley E. Block and grandson Ronald Humphreys. A resident of Lancaster since 1939 she held positions at War Eagle Field and A.V. Poultry Association. More than a mother, grandmother and friend, Mearl will be missed by all that knew her. We appreciate the moment she was with us, our hearts rejoice in her freedom. Her life will be celebrated with a chapel service at 11 am, Wednesday, October 11, at Mumaw Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tueday, October 10, from 5 to 8 pm.
