RENSSELAER -- Hargus Hale, 84, of Rt. 1, Rensselaer, died at 8 a.m. today in Jasper County Hospital after an illness of three days.
Born at Prestonsburg, Ky., Mr. Hale moved to Jasper County 50 years ago. He was a laborer at the U.S. Steel Corp. at Gary before retiring. In 1915 he was married to Mary Arnett, who survives. He was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Surviving with the widow are a son, William Hale of Hobart; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Maude) Wayne of Wheatfield, Mrs. Donald (Lola) Clark of Rensselaer and Mrs. Marvin (Minerva) Isaacson of Dalton, Ill.; and one brother, Allen Hale of Rensselaer.
