Mrs. Sophia Blake, 94, of Hinckley, died suddenly Friday evening, August 4, 1961, in the DeKalb County Nursing Home.

She was born in Pierce Township, February 20, 1867, the daughter of Georg Christian and Stephanea Klemm Ziegler. She married Frank I. Blake at Hinckley February 20, 1917. She had lived her entire life in the Hinckley community and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ

Survivors include three step-daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Miller of Kewanee, Mrs. Marcia Gierke of Evanston and Mrs. Margaret Phelps of Detroit, MI, and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1952; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Nash Memorial Chapel in Hinckley with the Rev. John L. Niensted officiating. Burial was in East Pierce Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Scheidecker, Curtis Grimm, Rollin Ziegler, Harley Mack, Imas Mack and Donald Mack.
