Kitty was born to Milton and Eva (Perry) Hughes and immigrated to Boston, Mass., in 1924, where she lived until 1948. She married Sydney "Bud" Shirck on May 28, 1949, and she and her husband farmed for over 40 years in the Glasford area. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1995, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her three children, Roger Shirck, Ron (Lois) Shirck and Carol (Dennis) Tracy; six grandchildren, Amy, Jeff, Lori, Ryan, Christina and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren.
