ANDERSON
Ivan Richard Anderson was born April 26, 1904 at Kirksville, Mo., the son of John and Della Anderson.
As a young child, he moved to Lucas county where he lived the rest of his life. In 1924 he married Ariel Mason and two children were born to this union.
Following Ariel's death he married Orpha Jones in April, 1946.
He farmed in Benton Township until he retired and died at his home on April 21, 1979, at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 26 days.
His survivors include his wife, Orpha; one son, Earl of Van Meter; one daughter, Dorothy Slaughter of Lacona; three step-children, Carl Jones of Ft. Worth, Tex., Harry Jones of Raymond, Wash., Betty Ritter of Des Moines; two sisters, Fern Davis and Opal Shanks, both of Chariton; six grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 1979, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
