years, died Sunday evening at 6:10 at St. Thomas Mercy hospital where she had
been a patient since last March 15. She broke her hip eight years ago and was in
the hospital for 11 weeks at that time. She has been in poor health since then.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Bergen, Norway, Dec. 13, 1857, She came to this
country in 1874 to make her home with her uncle, Ole Werson at Roland.
One year later she was married to Carl W. Anderson and they moved directly to
Marshalltown. They lived all of the time since excepting 3-1/2 years when they
lived west of the city. They were the parents of 8 children, three of whom died
in infancy.
Her husband and one other daughter, Mrs. Anna Chase, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are Albert Anderson, at home, Mrs. George Dart of Waterloo, Warner E.
Anderson of Pocatello, Idaho, and John E. Anderson of Sioux Falls, S. D. One
sister also survives, Mrs. John Marcus of Bergen, Norway, 10 grandchildren, and
8 great grand-children.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Elim Lutheran church which she helped
organize.
Setvices will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'Cock at the church in charge of
the pastor Rev. Fredric M. Norstad. Burial will be in Riverside. The body will
remain at the Pursel funeral home until Wednesday noon.
