David was born March 19, 1927 in Wenona, IL to David and Bertha (Hultgren) Anderson. Copie was Vice President and Eastside Facility Manager of First National Bank of Geneva. Copie was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia; he sang in the choir and was also treasurer for the church for many years. Copie was a member of the American Legion Post 75 in Geneva where he served as commander. He was also on the Kane Country Fair Board and served as treasurer for many years. Copie had a wonderful voice, he sang at many funerals and numerous weddings throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carmen of Geneva; daughter, Betsy (Ken) Garrison of Batavia; son, Scott (Eileen) Anderson of Kingston, WA; three grandchildren, Lanee, Jorden and David Garrison of Batavia,; one sister, Aina McKirgan of LaFayette, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Dormand Anderson; and a sister, Irene Carlson of Henry, IL.
Visitation will be held 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Yurs-Peterson-Moss Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL.
Services will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln, Batavia, IL where he will lie in state from 10:00p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Paul Hammar will officiate. Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
