Born in Lewistown, Ill, he came to Kingsport in 1920. He joined the Tennessee Eastman Co. in 1926 and was employed there until he retired at age 65. He was a member of Frist Presbyterian Church of Kingsport.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Carrie Hinderliter Moorehouse of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Bray of Kingsport, Mrs. Clifford Sutphin of Charlottesville, VA; five sons, George L. Moorehouse, Glen W. Moorehouse, Robert E. Moorehouse all of Kingsport, Roy V. Moorehouse of Nashville, and Richard Moorehouse of Brewton, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. Ray Van Wormer of West Convina, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
