Mrs. W. S. (Carrie H.) Moorehouse, 99, died Thursday evening (September 14, 1989) at Wessex House after a lengthy illness.

Born in Smithfield, Ill., she had been a resident of the Kingsport area since 1920. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, William Sydney (W.S.) Moorehouse.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ruth Bray, Kingsport, and Mrs. Elsie Louise Sutphin, Charlottesville, Va.; five sons, George L. Moorehouse, Glen W. Moorehouse, Robert E. Moorehouse, and Roy V. Moorehouse, all of Kingsport and Richard C. Moorehouse of Dunedin, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Claude Hinderliter, Peoria, Ill.

Calling hours are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Grave side services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. J. W. Gott and the Rev. Daniel W. Massie officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsport.
