George L. Moorehouse
George L. Moorehouse 88, 1702 Fairhaven Ave. Kingsport, died Saturday (May 16, 1998) at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Dodge City, Kansas, he had lived most of his life in Kingsport.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Dillow Moorehouse in 1996; his father and mother, W.S. and Carrie Moorehouse; and a brother Roy V. Moorehouse.
Surviving are two daughters, Hazel M. Price, Blountville, and Mrs. Dugan (Jean) Whitewell, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, W.E. (Bill) and Norma L. Moorehouse, and son Jon E. Moorehouse, all of Kingsport; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ruth M. Bray, Kingsport, Louise Sutphin of Charlottesville, VA; three brothers, Glen W. Moorehouse, Jonesborough, Robert E. Moorehouse, Kingsport, and Richard C. Moorehouse of Dunedin, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends through the years at TEC. He will be missed.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Funeral Home and anytime at the home of the son, W.E. "Bill" Moorehouse 263 Slaughter Street (Rock Springs).
