Mrs. Margaret Foust
Last week mention of the death of Mrs. Margaret Foust, which occurred Friday, March 30, was made in the Tribune. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Monday, April 2, and the body taken to Aurelia for burial.
Margaret Furnham was born in Ohio on January 20, 1854. The family came to Iowa and homesteaded in Webster county when she was only a child. In 1865 she united in marriage with Jacob Foust at Ft. dodge. They established their home in Cherokee county, where they lived for some time. In 1899 Mr. Foust died leaving the care of the family to his wife. This responsibility she bore faithfully and well. She was a Christian woman, a fond devoted and dutiful mother. She was the mother of ten children, three of whom died in infancy, and the other grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive her. The daughters are Mrs. Mary Andrews of Stratford, Iowa; Katie Pigman of Britt, and Mrs. J. J. McCannon of Royal. The sons are Ed of this city; Lester and Will of Curlew, and Fred of Lehigh. To them the tribune extends sincere sympathy.
