Birthdate on headstone is WRONG. This is born out by WWI and WWII Draft Registrations, Social Security Records, and age of 17 on Wisconsin's 1905 State Census, dated the end of June, 1905, giving his age as 17. Greg was born 17 Nov 1887. This means that the obituary, also, is wrong, and he was 60 years old when he died. As to his place of birth, Dane County Wisconsin has a village named Dane, which is in the Town of Dane; Greg was born in the Township, not the Village. He never married, had no children we know of, and was buried near his parents. -Michael W. T. Howe, grandnephew.
