T. A. Weber, a merchant in the grocery business for 44 years at Strasburg at the Effingham clinic, Feb. 3. He was born at Herborn, Shelby county, to Michael and Sarah Beery Weber, Feb. 1, 1877. During his apprecenticeship in the mercantile business he served with the Falk General Store, Herborn. In 1902 he entered partnership with his brother, John E. Weber in Strasburg. In 1927, the business was transferred to T. A. Weber and Sons. In 1941 the father retired from the business to leave the sons, Max and Floyd, as his successors. Mr. Weber was also a director and vice president of the Strasburg State Bank for many years. In his earlier years he took an active interest in the civic affairs of the community. He was married to Miss Lenora Falk, May 4, 1903. This union was blessed with three children: the sons, Max and Floyd, and daughter, Marie, now employed as teacher in the Decatur High School. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Strasburg. In his dear old St. Paul's he had been baptized, and confirmed, and from it the funeral service was conducted last Tuesday afternoon. His pastor, the Rev. L. Stuebe based his comforting address on II Cor. 12:12: "My Grace is sufficient for Thee." The school children sang under the direction of the principal, R. F. Nordbrock, "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll not Want." A. H. Peters served as organist, and the very large attendance at the obsequies was evidence of the esteem Mr. Weber had in the community. He leaves a devoted family, his bereaved wife, his sons, Max and Floyd and their spouses, Miss Marie, his daughter; four grandchildren: JoAnn, Joyce Marie, Michael Thomas, and David Lewis Weber; two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. James F. Kull, William Weber, Mrs. Wm. Krumreich and John E. Weber and other relatives. Many expressed their sympathy and esteem in beautiful floral offerings while others established in loving memory memorials for various charitable purposes. The following ladies had charge of the floral offerings: Alice Ulmer, Helen Luce, Ruby Krumreich, Mollie Krumreich, Ruby Hudson, Marine Reel Kull, Bernice Brandt, Florence Mueller, Ida Roellig, Nina Stremming and Elaine Ulmer. The Messrs. Abe Young, Jack Kull, Wm. Traue, John Biehler, Wm. Engel, and Bill Faster were honorary pall bearers. Messrs. O. A. Green, L. W. Lenz, Harry York, Walter Vogel, O. O. Kull, and M. G. Ulmer served as active casket bearers. Interment was in the Grace Cemetery in Strasburg. Funeral arrangement was in charge of the Piefer Funeral Home of Strasburg. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from hence forth." Rev. 14:13. Windsor Gazette - 9 Feb 1945
