James Preston Hennon, who would have been 90 years old on July 3 of this year, died at 11:30 last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Harley, near West Chester.
Funeral services will be held at the L.A. Jones funeral home Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, followed by burial in Elm Grove cemetery.
Mr. Hennon was born July 3, 1848, in Beaver county, Pa., and came with his parents to Missouri when young. He was married in Missouri to Evaline Hollinghead in 1876 and she died three years later.
After her death he came to Iowa and was married to Margaret Wood March 2, 1881. She died Dec. 15, 1929. He had lived in this county since coming to Iowa, with the exception of two years spent at Harlan. In recent years his home had been with his daughter, Mrs. Harley.
Surviving him are five children, Will Hennon of Los Angeles, Charles of Washington, Miss Jennie of Washington, Mrs. Walter Fisher of Keota and Mrs. Harley, There are also 16 grandchildren.
Mr. Hennon was a member of the United Presbyterian church at West Chester and had served that church as an elder for quite a number of years.
