William W. Hennon was the son of John & Abigail Hennon. In 1860, he was a farmer living with his family in Wayne Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 6" tall and had light hair and blue eyes.
He enlisted in New Brighton, Beaver County, March 1, 1865, and mustered into federal service in Harrisburg March 13 with Co. H, 87th Pa Infantry, at the rank of private. Hospitalized for typhoid fever June 10, 1865, and discharged the same day as his company on June 29 but remained in the hospital where he died of his disease.
