Myrtle Bauman, 94, Fergus Falls, died Monday, Feb. 20,
2006, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.
She was born May 23, 1911 in Friberg Township, rural Fergus Falls, the daughter of Carl and Mathilda "Tillie" (Kugler) Shol. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and attended school in District No. 207.
March 10, 1931 she was united in marriage to Verney Bauman. They had eight children.
Her husband died in 1972. She remained on the farm until 1974, when she moved to Erhard. While living in Erhard, she kept busy with babysitting and baking. She was famous for her donuts and Sally Ann cookies. Her records show that she made over 20,000 dozen donuts and was known as the "Doughnut Lady." She also kept busy making quilts and enjoyed making them for her family. Almost all of her 111 direct descendants have one of her quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Bill Lee; granddaughter-in-law Connie; great-grandson Kerry Nehk; brother Walter Shol; and sisters: Mae Anderson, Lillian Staff and Ruby Backmeier.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fergus Falls

Burial: St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls Funeral Home: Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls.
