COTTAGE GROVE (Special)
Mrs. Sam Eastburn, 62, Cottage Grove, died in the local hospital Thursday following a short illness. She was born May 29, 1892, at Garstairs, Ontario, Canada, and came to the United Sates at the age of 4 years. She was married to Sam Eastburn August 28, 1923, at Salem, and was a member of the Gibbs Avenue Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband and eight children: Mrs. Marvin Shaw, Mrs. Arlie Ferguson, Darrell Eastburn, Mrs. Frank VanNortwick, Doyle Eastburn, Mrs. Harry Hague and Mrs. Glen Bricker, all of Cottage Grove, and Donald Estburn, U. S. navy, stationed at Treasure Island, San Francisco; 19 grandchildren; four brothers, William Brock and Lyle Brock, Eagle Point; D. C. Brock, Salem, and Claire Brock, Roseburg; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Fleetwood, Gates, and Mrs. Dave Munsell, Cottage Grove.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Gibbs Avenue Church fo Christ with burial in Lane Memorial Park, Eugene. Mills mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
