Louise Burgess (Allen) Fitzgerald, 82, widow of Saylor B. Fitzgerald, formerly of Route 1, Greenville, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, in Envoy of Staunton. She was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Eugene Montgomery Allen and Ethel (Fitzgerald) Allen Matheny.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed by Western State Hospital with 15 years of service.
She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Vivian Allen, and a sister, Verna Mae.
Family members include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Lucas of Richmond and Sharon F. and John Boyd Campbell Jr. of Waynesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Lorine Allen and Maxie and Pearl Allen, all of Stuarts Draft; a brother-in-law, Conley Daughtery; and a granddaughter, Wendy Campbell Batts.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold W. "Pete" Campbell. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon F. and John Boyd Campbell Jr., at 56 Northside Drive in Waynesboro.
Memorials may be made to Greenville Baptist Church, Building Fund, c/o Mrs. Georgie Meyerhoeffer, 1583 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts
