Marvin F. Bethel
Marvin F. Bethel, 84, of Kingston, Mo., passed away at his residence on March 3, 2009. He ad been a farmer and cattle buyer. Born on August 8, 1924, in Kingston, Mo., to Robert Antonio and Aurelius Effie Bruer Bethel, he graduated from Kingston High School in 1947. He served our country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was an original member of the Kingston Fire Department. He married Mildred Setzer on August 8, 1948 in Columbia, Mo. They lived in Independence, Mo., for 25 years before moving to Kingston 34 years ago. While living in Independence, mo., Marvin owned and operated Bethel Body Shop on Truman Road. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred; daughter Ellen Haye; an infant son; three brothers, Bob, Jack and Richard Bethel, and two sisters, Fern Bethel and Sunny Walker. Survivors include sons Glenn (Linda) Bethel, Columbia, Mo., Colonel Samuel Richard (Cynthia) Bethel, Kissimmee, Fl, David (Angie) Bethel, Kingston, Mo., John (Teresa) Bethel, Chillicothe, Mo., and two sisters, Belle Cleaveland, Boone, Iowa and Dorothy Hawkey, Gladstone, Mo., and 12 grandchildren. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, where formal visitation is 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Interment Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Mo. Military honors provided by the Hamilton American Legion Post #285. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kingston Fire Dept.
