ISAAC G. SHIPMAN

Isaac G. Shipman was born Sept. 10, 1893 in Houston, Mo., to Arthur and Nancy Shipman and passed away at the Oakdale Sanatorium in Iowa City, May 11, 1956.

He was united in marriage to Goldie May Wright in Chariton. To this union four daughters and one son were born.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Gladys Shipman and Nancy Ann Terrell, his son, Earl Shipman, his father and mother, one brother and two sisters.

He was a farmer until he entered the service for his country on Dec. 17, 1917 and was honorably discharged May 29, 1919 after serving 14 months overseas.

He was baptized in the Lutheran church.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Goldie, two daughters, Ruth, at home and Mrs. Donald Moore, of Colfax, four grandchildren, Betty, Jerry and Joanne Moore of Colfax and Barbara Terrell Spoon of Newton, also two brothers, Roscoe and Everett Shipman, three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Tickle and Annie Wright, both of Coffeyville, Kans., and Mrs. Jewell Hanson, of Wichita, Kans., and a great host of friends.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Glenn W. Williams, were held Tuesday, May 15, 1956 at the Miley Chapel. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
