P. Nelson Shane, 81, of 1434 N. Second St. died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1994, at his home. Born Feb. 2, 1913, in Rome, Ill., to Joseph and Florence Colgan Shane, he married Charlotte Meister on June 27, 1940, in Chillicothe. She survives. Also surviving are six sons, Garwin, Glen, Leon, Marty and Mick, all of Chillicothe, and Jim of Harrisburg; four daughters, Paula Shane, Mrs. Gary (Roselynn) Metcalf and Mrs. David (Martha) Art, all of Chillicothe, and Mrs. Marvin (Anita) Waldschmidt of Henry; 17 grandchildren; four brothers, Maurice of Staten Island, N.Y., Robert of Galesburg, Leonard and Edmund, both of Wyoming, Ill.; and five sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) McGarvey, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Sendelbach and Mrs. Leonard (Joan) Sendelbach, all of Henry, Mrs. Tom (Ann) Donovan of Chillicothe and Mrs. Charles (Delores) Donovan of Wyoming, Ill. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
