Cove, Utah. Ethel Clementine Easley Burnett, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Cove, Utah on Monday, July 16, 2001, one month short of her 95th birthday. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Ethel was born Aug. 14, 1908 (sic) to Milburn Thomas Easley and Minnie Dehtan Easley in Eldorado, Okla. She was born in a half dug out and lived there until they finished building their home.
On Jan. 1, 1930, she married George Edward Burnett and they owned and operated a farm in Eldorado. Their children were Charles and Lemuel. In the summer of 1948, they sold their farm and moved to Raymondville, Texas where they owned and operated a cotton plantation.
Ethel spent her life working, playing, and serving others. She saw many changes in the world during her almost 95 years, and enjoyed telling stories about each new event in technology that she was introduced to. These stories were so interesting to hear because Ethel had the most amazing memory, not just about events, but about all the little detail that brought her stories to life.
Some of Ethel's favorite things to do were collecting dolls, crocheting, needle point, quilting reading her Bible and letters from loved ones and caring for her flowers and her many animal friends which she dearly loved.
Family and friends were a very important part of Ethel's life and each held a special place in her heart. Ethel was close to her Savior; she spoke to Him often and always looked forward to the day when she would be with her Savior again.
Ethel is survived by two sons, Charles Burnett (Siri), Pearl City, Hawaii, Lemuel (Connie) Burnett, Cove, Utah; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many loved ones.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Roy, Jewell, Homer, Cecil Blair; four sisters, Alta, Ollie Fay, Illa, Bernice; one great granddaughter, Denese.
Ethel was the first born into the family and the last to leave. She helped raise each brother and sister and watched over them to the end.
