TWIN FALLS -- Albert L Egbert, 91, Twin Falls died Saturday at a nursing home here after a long illness.
Born April 20, 1885, in Kaysville, Utah. Mr Egbert completed his education at the Preston Academy in Idaho. He homesteaded in Murtaugh in 1920 farming there until retiring in 1948 when he moved to Twin Falls.
He was married to Lydia Ann Tolman in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 8, 1915. She died in March 1954. In 1957 he was married to Louisa Tolman Cranney.
Mr Egbert was an active member of the LDS Church, filling a mission in the Eastern states as a young man. He served as a home teacher for many years, served as a member of the bishopric in the Murtaugh Ward for 11 years, was a sunday school teacher, stake missionary and high priest group leader. At the time of his death he was a member of the Fifth Ward High Priests' Group. Mr Egbert was a director of the Milner Low Lift Irrigation District for 12 years.
Surviving are his wife, Twin Falls; four daughters and five sons. Mrs Parley (Sarah) Egbert, Murtaugh, Mrs Melroy (Emma) Larsen, Preston; Roy Egbert, Tulsa, Okla., Clarence Egbert, Murtaugh; Mrs Les (Ruth) Downing, Provo, Utah; James Egbert, Ridgecrest, Calif, Mrs Virgil (Leah) Johnson. Heyburn; Dale Egbert, Salt Lake City. There are 33 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Eight brothers and three sister preceded Mr Egbert in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fifth Ward LDS Chapel on Maurice Street. Friends may call at White Mortuary this afternoon and Tuesday morning and at the church from noon until time of services.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
