Ralph C. Mullinnix, 82 years, of Indianapolis, passed away June 29, 2003. He was born October 28, 1920 to Harry C. and Mae M. (Hibner) Mullinnix, who have preceded him in death. He attended Duke University, and was a graduate of Purdue University in 1948. Ralph played an important role in the design and construction of roadways, bridges, and structures throughout Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan; including interstate 465, and the Central Post Office. After working as a civil and structural engineer for the State of Indiana, he was a partner in consulting engineering firms until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Castleview Baptist Church and the Super Sixties at the Church, American Legion, Tau Beta Phi, Delta Tau Delta, and Chi Epsilon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 3 at 10 a.m., with visitation Wednesday, July 2 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St. Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rebecca "Becky" (Bobbitt) Mullinnix; son, Stephen B. (Kathleen) Mullinnix; brother, Donald H. (Mary) Mullinnix; granddaughters, Nicole, Michelle Mullinnix.
