Elmer C. Haack, 90, of LeMars, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1996 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Funeral services were at 10:330 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Grace Lutheran Church, LeMars, with Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery.
Mr. Haack was born Nov. 23, 1906 at rural Remsen, the son of Claus and Ella (Kirchner) Haack. He attended country school north of Remsen. He married Ethel Hulda Ohlendorf at Marcus on Sept. 11, 1928. Mrs. Haack died on March 9, 1984.
Mr. Haack was engaged in farming, custom corn shelling, threshing, combining and trucking. He had also worked as a bus driver for the Remsen and LeMars school districts.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars.
Surviving are three sons, Duane and Dean of Sioux City and Rodney of Auburn, Calif.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Loewel [Lowell], and a son, Norman; four brothers, George, Edward, Clarence and Adolph Haack; and one sister, Lillian Raveling.
