CHESAPEAKE - William Stephen O'Neal "Buddy", Jr. 92, of Cedar Manor and formerly the 500 block of Hartswood Terrace, passed away Saturday, Sept 18, 2010. Born in Norfolk County, he was the son of the late William S. Sr. and Mary Wealphea Phillips O'Neal and predeceased by a son, William T. "Ted" O'Neal III (17 Sep 2010). Buddy was a graduate of Portlock High School. He worked for American Oil Company and later Amoco Oil Company for a total of 43 years. He then consulted for local oil companies during retirement. He was a longtime member of Great Bridge Baptist Church. Mr. O'Neal especially enjoyed doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 76 years, Elizabeth DeBaun O'Neal, a graddaughter, Sara O'Neal Fairchild and her husband, Todd; a grandson, Steve O'Neal and his wife Tracey, four great-grandchildren, Erin O'Neal, Brody Fairchild, Kelsie O'Neal and Stuart Fairchild. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday, Sep 21, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake; interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
