OBITUARY
A host of friends and relatives gathered at the First Baptist Church in Canadian to pay their last respects to Frank WRIGHT of Bivens Station who passed away at Dallas, Texas on March 16, 1951.
Mr. WRIGHT had been ill for the past three months with a brain tumor.
John Frank WRIGHT was born June 21, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. WRIGHT. He resided in Hemphill County from 1920 to 1928 when he moved to Bivens Station. In 1929 he was married at Amarillo to Miss Pearlie BOSTICK of that city.
Mr. WRIGHT was an engineer for the Canadian River Gas Company. He served to years in France during World War I. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge.
Besides his wife, Mr. WRIGHT is survived by four children, Mrs. Delorus RUTH of Amarillo and Lyda Jo, Katherine and John Frank, Jr. of the home. He is also survived by one grandson, Mike RUTH, and by seven brothers and five sisters: Bill, Edd, Dick, Clint, Henry, Earl, and Lewis WRIGHT, and Mrs. Edith JACKSON, Mrs. Mattie ATWOOD, Mrs. Berniece GREENHILL, Mrs. Blanche McCUBBIN, and Mrs. Hazel PETERMAN.
The Rev. Sanford Cole of Canadian officiated at the services. He was assisted by the Rev. A. L. Lyons, pastor of the Excell Baptist Church. Pallbearers were B. MOWREY, F. HAYDEN, O. CATES, A. J. WEBB, V. A. WHITSITT, and C. CROWLEY. Burial was made in the Canadian Cemetery.
