Little James P. Eddy was the son of William Henry and Eleanor Priscilla Eddy. He was approx. 3 years old at the time of his death.
James' father had left the Lake Camp with the First Relief. He returned later with a rescue party only to find that his wife and children had all died. James was left in the care of Levinah Murphy after his mother had died. He was still alive when James Reed arrived with the Second Relief on March 1, 1847, but died before his father arrived with the Third Relief on March 13.
