Funeral services for Ed Wright, 72 years of age, were held from the Mt. Carmel Church, Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock with the Rev. Chas Warren in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Wright died at his home near Mt. Carmel, Monday. He profesed faith early in life and was a devoted member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Mariah Shofner in 1891 and who preceded him in death five years ago. To this union was born three sons and five daughters. Surviving are: Clayton Wright, and Bud Wright, county; and Hugh Wright, Jefferson County; Mrs. Tommie Phillips, county; Mrs. Mina Phillips, Indianapolis. He also leaves four brothers and two sisters: Richard Wright, county; Charlie Wright, Marion; Mose Tom Wright, Larue County; Mack Wright, Plain Illinois; Mrs. Florence Morris and Mrs. Alec Underwood, Taylor County.
