Mrs. Florence Morris Vance, 77, daughter of the late Mr. Tom Wright and Mrs. Nancy Ellen Sprowles Wright, was born in Taylor County, March 24, 1874 and died at the Rosary Hospital, Tuesday, May 22 at 12:10 a.m. She had been in ill health for the past several weeks. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m. from the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Chester Badgett in charge, assisted by the Rev. D. L. Druien. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Joe Thomas Morris, Jack Shofner, William Chewning, Thomas Sidebottom, Dean Warrington, and Omer Wright. She was united in marriage to Mr. W. T. Morris 60 years ago, who preceded her in death 23 years ago. To this union six sons and one daughter were born. Surviving is one son, Shelby Morris of Sandwich, Ill. On Oct. 6, 1950 she was united in marriage to Mr. J. T. Vance, who survives. Besides husband and son, she is survived by four brothers and one sister: M. T. Wright, Buffalo, Ky.; C. M. Wright, Raywick, Ky.; Mac Wright, Planes, Ill.; R. H. Wright, Maple, Ky.; and Mrs. Alice Underwood, Mac, Ky. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.
