Third child and Son of Daniel C. Quick and Elizabeth Eleanor (Betsy Ellen) Tannehill of Johnson Co., Missouri.

Ben Quick, a well known cattle man on the Dolores, just above Big Bend, was thrown from a horse this week and quite seriously injured. How the accident occured and how severly he is hurt, are matters of which we are not informed.

Apparently the accident killed Ben as he is listed in the People's (Old Dolores) Cemetery online, as died 28 Oct. 1882. His brother J.T. Quick died 1910 is buried next to him in this cemetery...He was the brother of my great grandmother Annie Quick McVey...Tom M. Short II
