JAMES C. MIER
James C. Mier died at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon at the family residence, 1502 North Water street, aged fifty-nine years. His death was caused by consumption, after a year's illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie B. Mier, and four children, Alva, Byron, Roy and Harry Mier, all of Decatur.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church in Mt. Pulaski.
Mr. Mier also leaves a little daughter, aged about two years.

JAMES MIER FUNERAL
HELD IN MT. PULASKI
Mt. Pulaski, March 2.----The funeral of James C. Mier of Decatur wash held here Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. L. M. Robinson, and was largely attended.
James Mier was born near Mt. Pulaski Oct. 12, 1851 and had lived here the greatest part of his life, only the last few years of it being spent in Decatur. His parents were pioneers of Logan county and his aged mother, "Aunt" Rebecca Mier, survives him. She makes her home in this city.

He at one time was in business here and for two years was connected with W. H. Staffrd in the management of the Mt. Pulaski Weekly Star. He was afflicted with lingering consumption and had been a sufferer for many years, but was always cheerful and sociable with everybody, and had few if any enemies.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife and five children and several brothers and sisters. The body was accompanied to Mt. Pulaski by many relatives and friends from Decatur. The interment was in Mt. Pulaski cemetery.
