held here in the Christian church at 1:30 p. m. Friday, conducted by the pastor. Rev. J. Newton Cloe, assisted by Rev. L. M. Robinson. Mrs. Mier was born in Pennsylvania, June 30, 1823, and was eighty-eight years nine months and three days old at her death.
She came to this locality in an early day and with her husband was one of the pioneer farmers of Logan county. She was the mother of a large family and after her husband's death, left the farm and moved to Mt. Pulaski where she has since resided. She was a woman of sterling character and gentle disposition and had many friends to most of whom she was lovingly known as "Aunt Becca" Mier.
Children surviving her are Leeds Mier, Mrs. Elias Buckles, Mrs. Zerilda Moore and Mrs. Nancy Dyer of Decatur and John Mier of this city, besides numerous grand and great grandchildren.
The funeral was largely attended and there were many floral offerings. The interment was in the Mt. Pulaski cemetery.
NOTE; The Elias Buckles mentioned in the obit should say John Andrew Buckles.
