She was born in Lowell on November 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Gazda) Kowalski. Julia lived her entire life in Lowell, except for a brief time during her childhood when she lived in Poland. She attended both St. Stanislaus School and Lowell Public Schools.
Julia was employed for more than 40 years at the Irving Stitcher Company where she worked as an Inspector and Hand Presser.
She is survived by three nieces, Anne Openshaw, Rose Blondin and her husband Frederick, and Judith Stiff, and one nephew, John Kowalski. Also several cousins, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley J. Kowalski and John "Buster" Kowalski; a sister-in-law, Rose Kowalski and her lifelong companion, Theadore "Teddy" Niedziela.
