Albert A. Ashley, a member of one of Montgomery County's earliest families, died Thursday of complications from a stroke. He was 84.
Born March 24, 1919 in Montgomery County, Ashley was an attorney who made his career in real estate with his firm, Albert Ashley & Associates.
A World War II veteran and successful businessman, Ashley gave much of his time to a host of civic organizations, serving as president of Capitol City Kiwanis Club, Family Guidance Center, Travelers Aid Society and T. B. Sanitarium of Montgomery among his other community involvement.
He leaves his wife, Mary England McConnell Ashley, one son and three daughters.
