Funeral services for Henry W. Fathauer of 938 W.Wood street, retired farmer, will be held at 2 pm tomorrow in the First United Brethren church, with burial in Fairlawn cemetery. The body will be taken from the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home to the residence at 4 pm today. Mr.Fathauer, who was 81 years old, died at 6:45 pm yesterday in the Decatur and Macon county hospital, where he had been a patient since June 29. He had been in failing health three years.
Born June 12, 1859 near Hanover, Germany, Mr. Fathauer came to the United States when he was 14 years old. He settled in Macon county near Boody, later moving to Prairie Hall.
He was married Feb. 28, 1864 in Prairie Hall to Wilhelmina Reeter, who died in 1927. Mr. Fathauer retired from farming in 1915 and moved with his wife to Decatur.
Mr. Fathauer leaves four daughters, Ida at home, Mrs. Carolyn Wilson of Lake city, Mrs. Viola Hurst of Champaign and Mrs. Ora Shearer of Auburn, one son, Walter Fathauer of Lake City, who was formerly chairman of the Macon county AAA committee, one brother, Herman of Moweaqua and eight grandchildren.
