Peter Sieberg Called by Death

Peter Sieberg, one of the first settlers if this county, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Gitter of Eagle Lake, this morning as the result of paralytic strokes suffered with the past three days.

Mr. Sieberg was born in Germany eighty-two years ago and came to this country with his family in 1869, settling in Lime twp. Some years after that he removed to this city and was here engaged in business, but for the past few years retired from active life and he and his aged wife were living with their daughter, Mrs. Gitter.

Considering his advanced age, the old gentleman was enjoying good health up to 2 o' clock Saturday morning when he was seized with a paralytic stroke which affected one side of his head. Five hours later was followed by another stroke which deadened his whole left side. The sufferer gradually grew weaker until death relieved his sufferings at 8:00 last night.

Mr. Sieberg is survived by his wife, who is now 81 years of age, and four sons and two daughters. The former are G. Sieberg of Mankato twp.; Frank Sieberg, a candy manufacturer in Albert Lea; Stephen Sieberg, a traveling salesman for Rosenberger and Courier of this city; Vincent Sieberg, of Madison Lake and Matt Sieberg of Fremont, Nebraska. The daughters are Mrs. Joseph Gitter of Eagle Lake and Mrs. H. C. Kelsey of Buford, Wyoming.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at Ss. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church and the remains will be buried in Calvary Cemetery.
